Richard Kemp leaves Kemp Little to establish IT boutique

From Who’s Who Legal, 30th May 2014

Kemp Little founder Richard Kemp has left the firm to launch a specialist practice, Kemp IT.

Based in London, the boutique will focus on all aspects of data law, regulations on trading platforms, mobile payments, multi-platform distribution and public and private cloud computing services.

“I wanted to get back into fee-earning” said Kemp who set up Kemp Little in 1997. “The IT sector has never been more vibrant. IT law continues to expand, develop and absorb. Cost pressures, IT itself and ever more knowledgeable and discerning clients are taking legal services to new levels of segmentation and specialisation.”

Kemp has over 30 years of experience in IT law specialising in technology development, deployment and regulation within business. He manages Kemp IT from home with the support of his wife, who is a trained lawyer, and a former assistant.

“It’s been a great privilege to lead the firm from a standing start to its current position” said Kemp about his former firm. “I wish them all the best [but] this is the right time for a new challenge and I’m really excited at the prospect of launching out and focusing entirely on client work again.”
